What is special about special education?
No matter what their difficulties, every child deserves the same opportunities. Children with learning disabilities have the right to access special education, which allows them to receive a quality education that is tailored to their needs. Every student can achieve their maximum potential and independence through special education. UNICEF estimates that around 93 million children in the world are living with some kind of disability. More than half of those children don’t attend school, which is a barrier to their right to a better future. Different systems have been developed by countries around the globe to improve child care, education and quality of life. To meet this goal, a variety of laws were passed to address the special needs of children.
